Dog and Horse
Dog Training in Hampshire

My Background
I have lived and travelled abroad and was fortunate to gain an insight into many different cultures and traditions and how this affected their animals. My journey into the complementary field has taken me down various roads including massage, shiatsu and now being a Usui Reiki Master Teacher and also looking to upgrade my existing qualifications and expanding into new fields such as Crystal Healing and Flower Essences.
I have been working as a professional therapist for both people and animals for over 30 years. I am based in Winchester, Hampshire although I will travel visiting clients and teaching workshops. I am qualified and insured in all therapies for working with both humans and animals and as a combination. I specialise in dogs and dog/human interaction and relationships to aid closer working to achieve the best of both, although I also have a love of horses and how they react to us and us to them. I have a strong interest in how the emotions control our way of thinking and how we and our animals interact and project ourselves.
I now live with my three Welsh Collies of different ages and problems, all of which have been rehomed but are now living in harmony with each other.
I believe that we should always be aiming to be the best we can, in whatever we do. I encourage my clients to develop this way of thinking to help them in their daily lives.

Canine and Equine Background
Equine Background
It was through my first pony (Spotty) who came to me in a bad way after being rescued from a field with her 6 month old foal (who was later sold at auction from 60 guineas) which was my initiation into equine illnesses/psychological problems. Later I sold her to by a three quarter bred thoroughbred 16.2 gelding whom I broke in myself and competed at one day events and dressage at local Riding Club events. Due to a back injury I had to sell him on.
My current experience has been with communicating with a young thoroughbred who was a little confused with his current situation to using healing techniques on a pony with feet/leg problems, alongside a Chiropractor.
Canine Background
Although my family has owned dogs and cats all my life my first dog was a Welsh Collie with a lot of attitude who I rehomed at 18 months old. He was my introduction to training and competing in the fields of Agility and Obedience where he achieved 'B' status in Obedience. He was my first introduction to the knowledge of Diet with regards to gut problems. His son was a bit quieter but also needed great care in what his diet was to learning about tumors. Zac my third dog who again was a Welsh Blue Merle tri collie who was also a rehome came to me as malnutritioned and the coinciding illnesses relating to this including arthritis and Hip Displasia. My introduction to massage and Shiatsu was his doing due to me wanting to help reduce these symptoms to enable him to be more comfortable. I now desired to increase my knowledge of nutrition and exercise alongside healing and reiki began to grow and expand. Each of my next three dogs have helped me to expand my knowledge but to also grow within myself and understand how straight forward diagnosis is the most appropriate way to deal with an illness or injury which could be psychological or dietary. I am still continuing to learn from my dogs with a continuous thirst for knowledge to help my clients.
I have worked with dogs who did not want to get up and walk to families who wanted extra help to guide them through a problem with regards to their canine companions.
